Seminar on the importance of economic assessment in the application of competition law

On Friday 9 June 2023, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host a seminar on the importance of economic assessment in the application of competition law, jointly organised by KRONBERGS ČUKSTE LEVIN and law firm RASNAČS. The event will also be attended by Dr. oec. Vitaly Pruzhansky, who has advised clients on numerous competition law cases before the European Commission, the Court of Justice of the European Union and the General Court, the UK and other national competition authorities.

The seminar will be moderated by Dr. iur. Lauris Rasnačs with experience in representing clients before the Competition Council, the European Commission, and the Court of Justice of the European Union. He is the author of numerous academic articles and books published in Latvia and abroad. Dr. iur. Lauris Rasnačs will be joined by Mag. iur. Reinis Papulis, a lawyer with experience in the Competition Council and many years of practice in competition law.

The speakers will discuss the possible forms and importance of economic valuation in various competition law cases, including cases of abuse of dominant position, agreements restricting, impeding or distorting competition, as well as cases of damages for breach of competition law.
